When is this event happening?

• March 18th- 25th 2012

Can I stay longer?

• Yes! We will be setting up for a week before and everyone is welcome to join us and stay later. El Panchan is open to guests anytime, and there will be other tourists there while the festival is happening

Where is it?

• El Panchan is on the road between the town of Palenque and the Ruins of Palenque. You can see their website here http://www.elpanchan.com/

Who else is going?

• We will have a maximum of 150 people joining us for this event. You can join the Facebook group here to meet everyone http://www.facebook.com/groups/229734490420454/

What will be happening?

How do I get there?

• The nearest airport is Villahermosa. It’s a short cab ride to the bus station from the airport. The ADO Bus goes from Villahermosa town to Palenque town. Seats on the bus are available in advance from the ADO website http://www.ado.com.mx. From Palenque town it’s another short cab ride to El Panchan

Can I travel with other people going to the festival?

• Yes!  If you want to coordinate with other people to travel together, use the facebook group to figure out details. http://www.facebook.com/groups/229734490420454/

Where do I stay?

• There are cabanas available at very reasonable rates. Camping is also available, at El Panchan. You can see all the details and contact El Panchan here http://www.elpanchan.com/. We are not organizing the accommodation- it’s up to each person to make their own arrangements. There is plenty of space for everyone!

Are the Cabanas a safe place to keep my belongings?

• All the cabanas have screen windows- so are not totally secure. There will be other tourists at El Panchan during the festival, so keep your passport and money on your body at all times.

Do I need to bring my own food?

• There are a couple of great restaurants in El Panchan where you can eat. There are shops 5 minutes away in Palenque town to buy food. If you bring camp cooking facilities you can cook your own food in the festival site. We will not be providing food

Will there be DJs?

• There will be NO AMPLIFIED MUSIC in the festival site. But there are a couple of bars in El Panchan with sound systems which will host our DJs.

Should I bring my musical instrument?

• Yes! We are looking forward to having live music at the festival

How much does the festival cost?

• The festival is free. But please click here to make a donation to cover costs.

How do I find out more?

• Make sure that you sign up by clicking ‘Sign up now‘. Then you will be added to the mailing list and get all the info as it becomes available

How is the festival organized?

• This event is an experiment in radical collaboration and temporary community. You can participate by offering time, energy, creativity, production support, resources and know-how.
